The First Baptist Church congregation began over 200 years ago. The church family today is a blend of children, young adults, families, and seniors. About 100 gather for worship each Sunday and about 50 – 60 attend Sunday School and Adult Education classes. There are small groups that study scripture, pray together, and give the support and encouragement each Christian needs to live faithfully for Christ. First Baptist Church is a member of the American Baptist Churches, USA relating to congregations in New York State, the United States, and around the world.
Our church building is distinguished by its tall steeple that towers above the brick facade. An elevator provides for handicap accessibility for the whole building. An Educational wing provides room for Christian Education as well as a daily nursery school called Playschool. The gymnasium allows for a variety of church and community activities and programs.
