~ Eric Gustafson ~

Eric Gustafson is a resident of Syracuse and has been a long time Principal Violist of the Syracuse Symphony.  He now holds that position with Symphoria.  He is also on the adjunct faculties of Hamilton College and Syracuse University.  He did his undergraduate work at Juilliard on violin with Ivan Galamian.  His graduate work was in composition at the Manhattan School.  He studied string quartet and viola on a fellowship at SUNY Binghamton.  His viola studies were with Toby Apel at SUNY Binghamton.  He is also a composer and a professional music engraver.  Mr. Gustafson has a broad understanding of the viola literature as well as orchestral music for the viola.   He is also a founding member of the DeVere Quartet which has given chamber music recitals and fundraisers in Central and Southern New York and Alaska.
